Re: Dagenham 590E parts for sale

System doesn't allow me to PM or email for some reason. Can you PM or email me and we'll connect. First week of December isn't a problem.

$250 for the cylinder Head. I replaced the original instrument cluster a couple of years ago (see photo).

Re: Re-power GB32 with a John Deere 6414?

I'm not sure I am considering the Perkins. I just became aware of it today. At 85 hp it seems just on the edge of enough. Not clear if it has balancing shafts (as does the JD 4045) and if not is it as noisy and rough as the Cummins 4BT I first considered. Just doing due diligence. There is a Lehman ...

Re-power GB32 with a John Deere 6414?

I have made several posts relating to my need to re-power my GB32, 1966 hull #17. I thought I had settled on a John Deere 4045 engine. I can't find anything other than brand new which is very expensive. I just came across a re-built John Deere 6414 NA 135 hp engine at a reasonable price. Does anyone...

Dagenham 590E parts for sale

I'm re-powering Haven and parts are available if there's any interest.

Dagenham 590E 6 cylinder diesel turbocharged. Rebuilt 2014 but has broken valve, valve guide, bent push rod and damaged piston on one cylinder.

Owner of 1967 GB32 Odin?

I'm trying to locate the current owner of a 1967 GB32 named Odin (in 2010). I have to re-power and I have a question regarding his John Deere engine.

Can anyone help?

Re: Did overheated Dagenham contribute to broken Valve Guide?

Engine damage: broken valve, broken valve guide, bent push rod, damaged piston. Cause: unknown. I will not repair the engine (590E Dagenham) which was rebuilt in 2014. It will be available for parts. Haven will be re-powered with a Cummins 4BT or a 6B.

Re: Outboard on GB32?

We got a 50 mile tow from Port Neville (11 hrs) to Campbell River that cost $3400. We've got about 115 miles to get home. I could trailer it for $2000 - $3000+. I could get another tow for $5000? or more. Or, I could buy a good used 25-40 hp outboard for about $2000 to get the boat home then sell it...

Outboard on GB32?

I need to move my GB 32 about 115 miles. Engine is disabled. Thinking of putting a 40HP outboard on the swimgrid to do the job. 4 to 5 knots would do it. Has anyone done anything like this? Would be done in about 30 mile stages. (Hard to find a tow).

Pretty much what I’ve heard so far and exiting transmission will work.

Cummins 4BT re-power a GB32?

Thinking of re-powering my 1966 GB32 with a Cummins 4BT. Has anyone done this?

Re: Did overheated Dagenham contribute to broken Valve Guide?

The overheat was two years (and 300+ engine hours) ago. Insurance addresses only the money issue not the engine issue. I'm considering re-powering and would like some thoughts on an appropriate engine for a 1966 GB32 woodie.

Re: Did overheated Dagenham contribute to broken Valve Guide?

Overheat was caused by the alternator belt breaking which in turn hit the plastic hose running from the bottom of the radiator to the overflow bottle which drained the radiator. This happened just before going through Dodd Narrows, just south of Nanaimo. Our mechanic will be at the boat on Wednesday...

Did overheated Dagenham contribute to broken Valve Guide?

Haven is a 1966 32 with a 590E Dagenham engine. It was essentially rebuilt in 2014 (coolant in oil problem). In 2017 (at 506 hours on rebuilt engine) I had an overheating incident (temp gauge near 240). After that engine smoke was a little more than usual and it had a light ticking sound. Oil analys...
