Re: Seacock Maintenance

Re: GB32 zincs?

My suggestion is after the initial halout have a diver go down and examine and replace zincs if necessary. While doing that they should also be able to report how your bottom paint is holding out. My most recent dive report replaced the zincs gave me a percentage used per zinc, left me the old ones ...

Re: GB32 zincs?

I have a 1966 woody. I only have a prop nut sink and a 3 inch rudder zinc. The important thing is to monitor how quickly they dissolve. On a wood boat there a danger of overprotecting which can damage the wood and fasteners. My boat is unbounded also. There are a lot of posts on this subject. all of...

I'll take some pictures tomorrow. What year is your 42. My 32 is an early woody 1966. Unfortunately, GBs have changed configuratio...

I've heard nothing but good things about this company. My guess is they would help you trouble shoot the problem to make sure the problem is diagnosed properly.

alternators

The original Motorola alternators are extremely underpowered. I went with a Leece Neville brand upgraded to accept an external regulator. This is important if you are running for long periods of time because an internal regulator will stop delivering power to your batteries because their power outpu...

PSGBOA rendezvous leaving Blaine

I Am leaving Blaine on Wednesday morning. Plan on going north of Sucia and around the north side of Orcas come down just east of Spieden to Roche. Anyone coming down from Bellingham or Vancouver? Might be going solo if I can't find a crew-mate. Figure it will take about 6 hours give or take. Looking...
