Perhaps you are correct. I was thinking that while sitting motionless the main function was to distribute the weight of the engine and that I could perhaps get away with removing one for a short period of time. I am trying to figure out how to remove the iron braces individually without having to go...

GB 32 -removing stringers for painting and repair. Bad idea?

I have the engine out of my GB 32 and am cleaning up the engine room and thought I might go the extra mile and remove the stringers for cleaning, painting and better inspection. It looks to me like they are bolted to steel brackets tying them to the rib frames. So removing them appears to be "s...

I know this is an old thread but I'd love to see the photos if they are still around. The old link does not appear to work

Thanks Tom - I did not see your message initially. Still getting used to this forum. I am posting here because my pm's end up giving me an error (something about a db connection error) Anyway. I appreciate the tips. Im wondering how much weight the deck sides can hold. Have you ever speculated on th...

Looks great. Could I ask did you remove the seats altogether and if so how did you do it?

Mine need to be repaired and I am thinking about just cutting them off the deck at the base with an oscillating saw and a flush blade of some sort?

I am relatively new GB 32 owner and cruise off the coast of Ventura in California. I am not never sure if my GB is strictly a sunny day calm harbor cruiser or if it can take sterner stuff. I am always a bit nervouse about safety and how my GB will handle the weather and the waves. I was happy to see...

I think your's is one of the few GB's I have seen that actually has a sail. Do you use it and if so what effect does it have? Im wondering if it helps to counteract roll in rough seas?

Yea - nothing seems to work. When I click on that GBWoodies icon I get directed to the gbwoodies login page where I am unable to log in. I don't know if its suppose to be the same credentials as gbowners or not but even then when I click on the forgot password link I get this error: The requested UR...

We are in Channel Island Harbor in Oxnard CA so our cruising grounds is immediately off the coast and we are hoping to venture out to the Channel Islands themselves once I get a bit more experience. Its encouraging to hear some of the feedback since as crazy as it sounds I tend to be wary way before...

Rough Sees, Wind and Weather

I am not sure this is the correct forum for this question but here goes anyway. I am a bit surprised at the effect a small amount of wind has on the handling of my GB32. Also the boat seems to have more roll in the ocean than I was expecting. I don't have a lot of experience and so am wondering what...

Whats up with http://www.gbwoodies.com

I searched these forums for an answer but can not figure out what the status of http://www.gbwoodies.com/ is. Some pages work for me some pages do not. The contact form there does not seem to work and some links there are to grandbanksowners.com. I would like to get into the reading room there but c...
