Re: Half Moon Bay Cruise

I made this trip in November last year and had a fine time. Unfortunately, I arrived after dark, which I do not recommend. It made for an "interesting" approach. And when I left the next morning it was foggy, so I never really saw much of Half Moon Bay. But those things aside, here are som...

Lost my flagpole

I have a 1969 GB32 (hull 164) and due to an unfortunate incident* recently lost my flagpole (the one that mounts on the center of the transom). I could probably buy a replacement from Grand Banks, but I expect it would cost several hundred dollars. I think I could fabricate a new one myself, or with...

Re: Holyhead Marina.

Yikes! That's terrible. It looks like the surviving boats were anchored away from the docks.

I think my owners manual says 3 foot 9 inches. So, slightly more than your estimate.

Not quite sure what you're asking, but the work was done by the previous owner, so I don't know much about how it was done.

The beadboard is great looking. Did it increase the apparent sound level in the cabin while underway? Oliver Since I haven't traveled in a similar boat WITH the headliner, I couldn't say if there's a difference or not. I suppose the smooth surface will bounce the engine sound around more, but it's ...

I didn’t do the bead board myself, but I think there must be a small space between it and the plywood above for those plates and wiring, etc.

Here are two different GB32s without headliner. First is one with just the headliner removed.

Then, this is my boat, with a nice beadboard finish.

Here's the outboard holder on my boat. Not as convenient as something on the transom, but maybe more secure.

My boat has a wooden bracket just to the right of the cabin door for holding an outboard motor. It was put there by the previous owner, and I don't use it. I can't find any good photos, but I will try to remember to take one this weekend.

I saw two other Grand Banks 32s on Friday - "Jaws" and "Irish Rose". Always nice to see birds of a feather.

Finally got the boat back in the water a few weeks ago. Here she is at Angel Island on Friday.
