Re: Lehman 135 Flex Plate, issues to be aware of

Search “damper plate” on this site or the Trawler Forum web site. Bottom line is that they wear out. Springs get weak. The springs fall out inside the bell housing. Can jamb things up and stall the engine. 3,000 hours on our 135. Replacing the plate is rising up on the list of preventative maintenan...

Curtains really came back nicely. Good thoughts on trying the restorer. Wife’s a keeper :)
Just put our curtains back up this am. Is a PIA.

Re: Interior Plywood

I just did over the aft stateroom in Benjamin Moore 548 01 Matte finish. It’s as white as it gets. Really brightens things up. The Navajo white will be an “off white” but also nice.

Re: Redoing small windows on GB 42 Classic

Looks like a hefty project. Certainly worthwhile. I like to keep things original however I think the Mainship ports / windows are a good idea. I have never worked with Cousa Board before. Will that replace the 3/8 plywood? Or does the plywood go over the board?

Re: Troubleshooting Starting Circuits

Set the battery charger aside. If the batteries are up to snuff look for more corroded or loose connections (both ground and positive) cables. Starter and starter solenoid connections are suspect. Follow the ground from the battery to the block. Make sure it is clean and tight.

Re: Water on side decks

Same issue here on our 36. About 3/4 of the way aft on both sides. Port side is worse because teak is a little more worn. You will also find that that water remains under the teak (between the teak and fiberglass). Another good reason to make sure that the screws holding the teak down are sealed wel...

Unfortunately not a lot of action on this forum anymore. We have a 36 #715. Have read and used the history on this forum extensively. Still a few well experienced posters that will chime in I hope. Sounds like you are gaining experience quickly. :)
