Batteries

Hi All I have 4 6V golf cart batteries in my boat. About a month and a half ago I filled all with distilled water because they were low. This morning I checked and they were low again. I turn the DC off when I'm not at the boat other than the bilge pumps that never get used, safety precaution. I do ...

Did I fry my alternator

Hi All I noticed that my alternator gauge's read 0 while running. Most of the time I have the boat on shore power with the charger on and have run the engines at the dock while still attached to shore power. Would that have damaged the alternators? Can I test the alternators, have them repaired or s...

Crazy Question

Hi All I was curious to see if anybody out there has converted a GB to electric propulsion? I seems to me that anyone that needed new tanks and a rebuild,(not me) would consider replacing the tanks with batteries and the diesels with motors. Is the technology there or do we have to wait?

Additional Tachometer

Hi All Has anyone mounted a tachometer off the alternator on a Ford Lehman? I sometimes get erratic readings from the existing tach's and would like to mount a small engine mounted tach to verify my readings. I know I can get a cheap handheld lazer unit but would prefer one mounted so that I can jus...

Lazarette hatch gas struts

Hi All I have a 77 CL36 with twin lazarette hatches and would like to install gas struts to them. I have a chain that holds them in the open position right now and think it would be a lot easier with gas struts. Has anyone done this and if so what weight, brand, length should I be looking for? Thanks
