Source for rollers on salon door bottom

Postby Rod Graff » Tue Dec 04, 2018 3:15 pm

The salon door on our 1970 32 is getting harder and harder to open. Seems that I will need to replace the rollers. The track is clean, but the rollers seem to still hang up and make the door stick in places. What have people used for replacements? Also, are there some top guide pieces that also wear out?

Bob. Please elaborate. I don’t have the door off right now.

I put an aluminum bar stock strip in the doorway base and monel on the bottom of the door. Light use of WD40 on occasion with cleaning.

Hook the door - it will slide in seas.

You can use the appropriate size nylon rod stock and cut off slices of 1/4" to 3/8" then drill a hole in the center for the axle. If the wood threshold is worn, do as Vance suggested and lay a strip of aluminum or bronze in the bottom.
Good luck,
