GB 32 Water Lift Muffler Lehman 120

Postby CowBay » Mon Jun 11, 2018 7:13 pm

Our water lift muffler has sprung a leak here and there and we are looking to replace it. It is currently a Centek I believe, 3.5 inch in and out. The Lehman manifold elbow is 3.5 inches in diameter

However when I took the hose off I found that what I thought I was a hose splice is actually a custom reducer and that the old hose that goes all the way to the back of the boat is only 3" diameter. My plan was to replace all the way to the stern with new hose.

The boat is a 1967 and several things have been 'modified' over the years so now I am left wondering what size should be in there. To complicate matters Centek seems to say for our 120 the hp rating should be a 4", 3.5 is rated at 85 hp.

What are the other 32's out there running for size? Any shared info would be appreciated, thanks.

Our GB 32 is hull #17 from 1966. Our engine is a 6 cylinder Dagenham 330 cu. in. (an early version of the Lehman 120). If I recall correctly (I can check the manual on the boat) the original hp was 85 but it was subsequently turbocharged giving, I think, about 110 hp.

The exhaust hose is 3.5" OD.
